もう本当に可愛い！ 鳥って本当におしゃれ好きですよね。
Extra ordinary looking chickens! They are absolutely stunning! I would love to have fluffy and cuddly looking Silkie Bantam as a pet chicken in future.

New world at New years eve

年末年始は生まれて初めてのスキューバダイビングに挑戦する。世界遺産、世界最大の珊瑚礁のグレートバリアリーフで３日間船に泊まってライセンスを所得する予定、しかも　この日しか開いていなかったので大晦日の早朝から１月２日まで３日間、個室、シャワー、食事付きのダイブツアー！新鮮魚介類と凄く美味しい料理が沢山食べられる事でも有名らしい。今年はニューイヤーパーティもそばもお雑煮もありませんが、新しい年に向けて素晴らしい新しい経験となりそうだ！　琴は今回もトレーナーさんの家にホームスティ。彼女も新しい経験をするに違いない

I will experience the first time ever scuba diving during the new years holiday. We will go to Great Barrier Reef to join the 3 days diving tour, I will be taking training lessons during this tour to be qualified diver! I won't be able to have neither soba nor Ozo-ni but It have a repetition for great sea food meal. It will be an amazing experience to see the new world in new year day! Koto will be home staying with dog trainer and pack of dogs! She will have a new year new experience too!

veggie patch update

今年のトマトはプチトマト！

水菜畑の上にあるのがトマト。既に私の身長より大きく、小さな青いトマトが出来ている
とれたての水菜。

リサイクルバケツで育つジャガイモ！イモ類は深いバケツや柔らかい土が必要だが、
無かったので編で囲って干し草で高さを加えた。
元気にぐんぐん育ってます。

手の平の半分以上あるミント。香りも濃くて美味しい

こればバスタブをリサイクルしてベジタブルパッチへ改造した畑。勝手に育ちだしたカボチャ、シルバーサイ、ミント、サラダゴボウ、水菜、三つ葉、アスパラガス。町中に住んでいても一工夫で野菜は育てられます

以前に載せた　卵のコンテナで育てたサラダゴボウ、私の手よりも大きく毎日ぐんぐん育ってる。
サラダゴボウ、一体どれくらいまで大きくなるんだろう。隣のカボチャも凄い勢い！

今年は本当に雨が多くて毎年１２月になれば干ばつの影響ですっかり茶色になってしまう公園の芝生もまだ深緑！今年の私達の小さな小さなベジパッチは元気一杯。自分達で植えた野菜もあるが、ほとんどがコンポスト（野菜畑の肥料にする生ゴミ）から勝手に生えて来た野菜達なので毎年何が育つか楽しみである。今年は他にも茄子、チリ、カプシカン、レモングラス、ニラそれから沢山のハーブが育っている。
This year's veggie patch is really green and healthy. We have many rain and cool days compared to usual December weather. We planted some of the veggies but most of vegetables are grown by naturally from Dean's compost system, so usually can't figured out until it grow up to decent size and shape every year and that is pretty exciting to find out. We have big pumpkin(again!)Egg Plant, Chill(yay!), capsicum, chives, lemon grass, lemon barm, and some of the veggies which grown from egg container that I put some photos before.

Recovery

今晩は琴の様態が少し良くなって来た。チキンとご飯はしっかり食べてくれてるし、抗生物質が効いて少し気分が良い様子。病院から連絡もあり、血液検査結果は白血球の数が異常に多かったがその他は健康体だ。白血球は何かの感染症若しくはウィルスから来ている様。中毒では無いので抗生物質さえ飲ませていれば、落ち着くかもしれない。安心した〜!
Koto seems getting better tonight. She has been eating boiled chicken and rice and looks like anti-biotics has been really working for her. Vet called for blood test result which was shown high white blood cell rate. This means she has got some kind of virus, but rest is normal and healthy. Vet thinks that she will settle down and get better in few days. what a relief!

I want to walk with you.

先週の木曜の夜から琴の様態が悪い。鼻水、嘔吐、熱、血便混じりの下痢、ご飯もあまり食べられなくかなり心配している。この症状を調べたら感染症、ジステンバー、腹部の腫瘍、パルボウィルス感染症、中毒等色々考えられる。水曜、木曜に行った公園で　遠くに除草剤を撒いている人を見た。もしかして毒が口に入ってしまって中毒を起こしているのか？とにかく慌てて土曜の朝から病院に行って抗生物質と解熱剤を注射してもらい、血液検査。それから下痢を改善する為１日絶食。お陰で琴のパワーは一気にダウン、トイレに行くのもやっとだし椅子に登る事も出来ない程衰弱している。昨晩と今朝は脂肪を与えないように言われているのでご飯と茹でたチキンやゆで卵をあげた。　検査結果がなかなか出ないので心配。散歩に行けなくて寂しい。
Since Thursday night, Koto has been really sick. She vomited few times on Thursday night then started suffering from high fever and bloody stool.
Some vet website says, The causes of blood in stools can be various. so we went to the vet on Saturday morning to tested her blood and got anti-biotic and shot of antipyretic. We are only feeding her cooked rice and chicken. She is really weak and no energy, She will be fine but not easy to look after sick animal. I wanna walk with you again Koto.

ignoring the reinforcer

最近、毎日ノートをとりながら真剣に読んでいる本”Control Unleashed”　私は本当の犬の気持ちを解っていなかった事を気づかせてくれた。　この著者の進める通り、”問題行動”の追掛けや他の犬に対しての威嚇、地面の臭い嗅ぎが出る公園で　琴の身体の動きを細かく観察し、本当の気持ちを理解する事をから始めた。　耳の動き、目の輝き方、動き方、顎の動き、しっぽの付け根の動き、いつ臭いをかいだか、どれくらいの時間この行動が続いたかなど細かい動きをノートに書き留め、琴を観察している。そうする事で　彼女がストレスを感じている瞬間と問題行動に出る手前の境界線が少しずつ解ってきた。犬って本当に身体で感情を表現してるんですね！

追掛けはシープドッグの本能だが　琴には同時にストレス解消の為の行動で、地面の臭いを嗅ぐ行動と似ている事に気づいた。
琴は本当に自制心が強くきちんと完璧に仕事をこなしたいタイプのワーキングドッグだとは解っていたが、この完璧主義が強迫神経症＝（地面の臭いを嗅いで、心を落ち着かせる。思いっきり走って／追掛けてストレス発散）を招いていたようだ。
ボール遊びでキャッチ出来なかったり、フリスビーを上手くキャッチ出来なかった場合にだけ臭いを嗅いでいる。　
それから　突然スイッチが入り追掛けるのは琴がストレスの溜まった興奮状態時に早く動く何かが　琴の境界線を超えて現れた時にだけ発生している。

今日は公園を歩きながら琴が反応しそうな犬、人、自転車、フリスビー、猫等　琴が気づく前にKoto!あれをみて、と指示をして琴がそのターゲットを見たらクリック、おやつ。要するにストレスを与えそうな物を落ち着いた状態で見せてあげて、心の落ち着いた状態を保ちながら公園を歩く練習。
そして　その後は　自転車やジョギングしている人を見ても、無視して　振り返って私とアイコンタクトを取る練習！
まずはリラックスさせて周辺環境に慣れさせてあげる事から　初めています。時間が掛かりそう、でも　今は頑張るしかないです。

The book I have been reading" Control Unleashed" This is changing my perspective of dog's mind. I already started some exercises from the book.
First of all, I needed to observe Koto's Body language to understand what exactly she is stressed about, when, what timing, how often, how scared observing from her eyes, jaws, ears,tail and body. We finally started to understand what is making her fear and anxiety, where is her threshold.
The most important thing for Koto is
1)Letting her to watch the environment.
2)Giving positive feedback instead of corrections
3)Relaxation exercises.
I have realised that Chasing behavior was also her stress displacement as well. I need to practice how to make her relax and calm down.
It will takes awhile to practice, but she is desperate to be calm and relaxed. We have to hung it there!

Weekend at Daylesford

先週の話だが天然水で有名な小さな街、Daylesfordに行ってきた。琴がカールトンに来たばかりの時からずっと遊んでもらっているボストンテリアの友達Jyu君の家。あいにくの雨だったが元気一杯の２匹を連れて7.5Kmのブッシュウォークをを楽しんできた。途中ミネラルウォーターのくめる井戸があり情緒があってとても奇麗だった。家には鶏が６匹、庭に大きなトランポリンも有り！しかも、ジュウに会うのも久しぶりなので琴は興奮しっぱなし。特にトランポリンはディーンと一緒にジャンプできて　かなり楽しそうだった！ずっとしっぽがブンブン。自然と動物とゆっくり触れ合えた楽しい週末でした。

We stayed in Daylesford last weekend. This little town is known for that contains Australia's largest concentration of natural mineral springs. We took our energetic dogs for 7.5km bush walk in the rain!
Our friends got a big trampoline, 6 chooks, and Super ball maniac Boston Terrier Mr. Jyu. He is the first ever friend for Koto and she hasn't seen him for awhile so it was very excitable to see him. She enjoyed the first ever experience of being bouncy trampoline, jumping up and down with Dean absolutely made her happy and excited! She couldn't stop wagging her tail. It was a nice weekend, surrounded by beautiful nature and animals!

I.D. Student Exhibition

私がインテリアデザインを勉強した大学の卒業生の展示会に行った。
特にプレゼンテーションボードの展示方法、モデルの撮影の仕方など　本当に素晴らしい作品が多く、良いインスピレーション貰えた展示会だった。
We went to RMIT Interior Design and Decoration student graduate exhibition the other day.
I was very stimulated and inspired by many of the technique of presentation, Photograph of models and quality. It was excellent exhibition!!

シンガポール出身の生徒、集合住宅をデザイン。もうここまで来ると
インテリアというより建築。デッサンがすばらしい。

デコレーションデザイン、モデルで見ると影、雰囲気、つなぎ目がよく見れる。デザインはモダンでコンプレックスだが、プレゼンテーションや図面の色づけ、
それからモデルが素晴らしく、見事な作品だった。

my new dog training method

あっという間に12月、今年最後の月に突入。 今月はクリスマスがあるので　週末は買い物を探しに出たりプレゼントを送ったりカードを書いたり忙しい。日本のお正月行事の年賀状はもう何年も書けていない状態だが、こちらのクリスマスは無視出来ない、必ず参加行事なので国民全員が皆忙しそうだ。 今年は琴にもプレゼントを用意した、テニスボール付きのタグトーイ、それから新しいSqueeky Toy! 　そしてこれは私達の為だけど、海外のwebサイトから琴との関係の為に3冊の本を購入した。著者は全員カナダ人！カナダのドックトレーニング事情、素晴らしい!

①The Other end of the Leash
カナダ人動物行動学者の著者が　たくさんの身近な例で犬から見た人間の行動を解りやすく説明している。世界２０カ国の犬に対するコマンドを調べ、声のトーンや活字数から犬に一番伝えやすい名前を呼ぶ時のトーンや単語の活字数など素晴らしい分析結果、犬との本当のコミュニケーションの仕方が学べ、素晴らしいパートナーを築ける本（既に読み終えたパートナーからの話）
②Control Unleashed
" 問題を抱えた犬”やハイパーアクティブな犬をリラックスさせる為の練習方法や、オフリードで完全に安心出来る様な信頼関係を築く練習、他の犬に対してストレスを感じる犬を完全に無視させ、飼い主にすべての集中力を向ける為のエクササイズ等。ドックトレーナーの先生に前から進められてやっと購入！
③Shaping Success
世界に知られるカナダ人アジリティ指導者の著者の120%信頼できるアジリティの訓練方法や彼女のハイパーアクティブなボーダーコリーとのアジリティ奮闘記等。

この３冊の英語の本、簡単なようで結構テクニカルな英語が出てくるので　私の英語レベルには少し難しいかも。でもこの本を年末年始の休み中に頑張って読んで、来年は琴ともっともっと良い関係を築けるように　頑張ります。　

weekend craft

写真は週末作った　アジリティのジャンプバーと琴。
琴はこの子供用のトンネルとこのジャンプが大好き。私の手に付いてくる"Follow Me"というコマンドを知っているので簡単にジャンプも教えられた！
２本足で立ってフリスビーの連続キャッチもただ今練習中！２０−３０秒立てる様になってきてます！

Picture is Koto with Mini-Agility jump bar which we made during the weekend. She loves this children's tunnel (always looks like she vaccuum into this tunnel!) She knew my follow my hand command, so it is easy to teach her jump and tunnel! We are practicing to let her stand on her hind legs to catch few Frisbee!

Mizuna-Mitsuba

日曜の夜、琴の今年のトレーニンング終了祝いをした。 マーケットに行くとシーフードが何時もより安くて新鮮に思えたので　思わず牡蠣１２個、生タコ、それからマグロを購入、もちろん琴にも牛骨！牡蠣フライとタルタルソース、タコとマグロのカルパッチョを作った！カルパッチョにはタマネギ、ワカメ、セロリと家で育った水菜とみつばをいれた。シャキシャキ感と新鮮魚介類！水菜はこちらでは購入できない野菜だが　今年は雨も多くぐんぐん育っている。　日本野菜の家庭菜園が楽しいこのごろです。それからそろそろゴボウの収穫!
On Sunday night, we celebrate the end of Dog training for this year. We found very fresh and cheap sea food at the market, we bought 1 dz oysters, raw-octopus, and sashimi-tuna also got some bones for koto! I made deep fried oysters with tar tar source, Plum&Ooba source-Karupatcho (dunno how to spell this..) with onion, celory, Mizuna-Mitsuba the Japanese herbs which has been growing very well in our garden. These vegies are not available in the veggie shops here,very exciting to have them fresh! We will harvest Gobo very soon.

Well done Koto!

日曜の朝、琴のオビディエンステストがあった。既に別の学校では受かっているレベルテストなので　あまり緊張はしていなかったが、この日は土曜から降り続いた大雨。いつもは恵みの雨だが、この日に限っては　あいにくの大雨、トレイルは水浸し泥だらけ。　伏せで”２分間マテ”　こんな普段は練習さえもしないような簡単なコマンドが水浸しのトレイルでは難しくなる。毛の短いスタッフォードテリアや足の短いバセットハウンドは座るのさえも完全否定している状態。突然降り出した大雨にみんなが一斉に雨宿りの為、走りだしたのとかなりの犬と人が狭い屋根の下で雨宿りしたので琴も大興奮！その騒々しい中、それでもテストは決行！結局落ち着かせる事ができず、スタンドステイで、近寄ってくる人をムシするコマンドが出来ませんでした。それからソーセージを持って近づいてくる人をムシさせる、これも少し動いてしまい落ちたぁと思ったが、天候を考慮して頂いて、見事合格！というより見事ぎりぎり合格！でも合格には間違いないのでとにかく良かったーー。今年のドックトレーニングは終了したので　来年からは念願のアジリティと社会科レッスンだ！

Koto had a "2nd" Basic Obedience test on Sunday morning at Croydon. Rain is very important in the summer but it was not pleasant rain at all on Sunday morning. Trail was covered in mud and cold rain water, which made simple commands to the most difficult one. Most of the short haired dogs refused to sit, drop on the ground. When it started pouring down the rain, we all run into the building, that made Koto really excited and worried, she couldn't stand stay well, she couldn't refuse sausage when examiner came to her. I thought we failed, but Koto passed!!They consider the weather condition. That was great achievement and also made us so excited about starting agility next year! This year's dog training is finally finished!! yay. Good job Koto!

Colours of Sunrise

キャンプで早起きした際、朝日が登る前の空の色をみた。
とてもエモーショナルで印象的な色だった。
I saw sky colour changes quickly before Sunrise when we got up early during the camping trip.
It was very emotional and strong impact colours.

今週の花。名前の解らない花（花なのか？）とても可愛くて眺めているだけで優しい気持ちにしてくれる。赤の花瓶にピッタリだ。
I don't know the name of this flower (is it flower??) but very cute make me feel calm. Suits well with my red vase.

Under the tree

シドニーのダーリンハーストで見かけたとてもすてきなベンチのデザイン。
木陰で一休みしたくなりますね。
Beautiful sitting area design in Sydney, Darlinghurst. Everybody wants to have rest under the tree shade!

Wild Succulents carpet

Altonaは石油工場などがある工業地帯で、あまりいい雰囲気の街ではないがビーチへ行く途中　奇麗なピンク色が一面に広がっているのが見えたので車を止めて散歩してみると、多肉植物の花が一面に開花していた。ピンクのカーペット、歩いてみるとフワフワだった。

Altona is not nice area to visit, there is big petrol factory and looks very industrial city. On the way to the beach, I saw beautiful bright pink colours all over the altona, so we stopped car and walk to the beach. It was wild succulents flower bloomed everywhere, looks like hot pink carpet! koto tested to walk on the carpet, it was really soft and bouncy:) We loved it.

今年の夏は猛暑が続くと予想されているがどうやら始まったらしい。今日は３４度、朝７時半前に散歩に出たが　既に日差しが強くいつもより早めに切り上げて帰って来た。週末は屋外でのドッグトレーニングの後、琴が本当に暑そうだったのでAltonaのドッグビーチに行って来た。メルボルンのオフリードOKのビーチの中では一番良いのでは！？広いビーチ、スカイブルーの海と空。私は木曜に起こったやけど事件のせいで海には入れなかったが、青い海と白い砂をパラソルの下で満喫した！　
Its getting really hot here in Melbourne, Today is going to be 34 Degrees,I left for walk Koto before 8am but it was already too hot. I need to leave earlier for walk.. Weekend was real hot too so we went to Altona dog off leash beach to cool Koto down. I thought it was the best dog beach I have been so far! Crystal clear ocean with huge open space for dogs to run around and swim!! I couldn't go swim because of my burned ankle from Thursday's park. but I enjoyed blue sky and ocean with white sand under the parasol, watching my doggy and partner:) swimming.

BD Presents

少し以前の話だが、久しぶりに友達を呼んで誕生日を兼ねたBBQ、楽しかった。 その際に友達から頂いた奇麗な花。この可愛いチューリップはこの暑さには耐えられなかったが　２週間経ったいまだ、この黄色い花束すべてが元気である！オーキッド（蘭）正に花の嬢王！次の写真はジュエラーのゆうりちゃんに　誕生日プレゼントに創って頂いたアンクレット。本当に奇麗、ジュエリーを貰うとなぜか特別な気持ちになれます。本当にお気に入り♪
Story from awhile ago, My Birthday BBQ was excellent and we enjoyed so much. these photos are some present from this day, this beautiful turip didn't last in this hot weather, but amazingly this yellow vase flowers are still in good condition! I've been realizing how strong orchids are!! They are really the queen of flowers! Next photo is present from Yu-ri. She made me this gorgeous anklet. It is so beautiful and made me feel so special. Receiving accessorie is very special!!

Tilted head BCs

youtube でパグが頭を捻らせて飼い主の声を聞いているビデオをまねてみました。
パグ程ノリがよくありません。それにしても　ここに映ってる琴ちゃん。まるで男の子です。本当に野性的。。
Have you seen Tilted head Pug's video on youtube? I made the same video with BCs, but not great as pugs tilted head! Btw, Koto looks very wild and manly on this video.. Oh I love her!!
