indoor banana

We have banana plant inside!!  Out banana plant made many many baby plants which was too much and destry the main plant so we needed to cut them off. 
Oh! I love it, Love having this plant inside the house! 
its giving me a lot of positive energy. 
such a powerful plant :)
外のバナナの木から沢山新しいバナナの木が生えてきました。
でもあまりにも沢山だったし　調べてみたらメインのバナナの木が死んでしまう様なので
小さいのは切ってしまう事にしました。
でもあまりにも奇麗だったので、花瓶に入れて部屋の中へもちこみました。
どうやって立たせようかと悩んでいたのですが、
小さいけど底がコンクリートの重ーい花瓶があったので試してみたら
ちゃんと立ちました♥
家の中で見るばななは何だか凄くエネルギーに満ちていて
見ていて気分が良くなります：）大きいでしょ？
因に外のバナナは4メートルくらいになっています！

But this smile also gives me a Huge positive energy!
バナナの素敵だけど、この笑顔がやっぱり一番のポジティブエネルギーですね

Strath creek bush walking -State forest, dog friendly and great view-

Cool weekend, perfect! (means no more Snakes!)

 Lets go to the mountain walk!!

we had a great afternoon in the small mountain :) 

The area was called Strath creek, near Broadford and Kinglake. 

We couldn't found good trail tracks for off-lead bush walking, but did many short distance

walking between driving one place to another. 

Stath Creek look out was great! such a pretty rolling hills.

涼しくなったー。これくらい涼しいと蛇達は動けなくなるので

山歩きの絶好のチャンスー！

久しぶりに歩いてきました：）

Backside to backside jumps

We have been quite active with short jumping exercises these days!
We did backside to backside jump practice from agility nerd to understand alternative handling options, and wow！ endless options. We have to immediately know what handling is the most suitable for our dogs during "course walking"
Its very good to test those skills!!!
- Thanks Julia (our school instructor) for pointing out this exercises! 

This day, he wasn't that motivated at first.. but it does looks the best/fastest on no.6
Difference between 5 and 6 are Handler walk back of the jump to lead Forced Front cross in static position or Handler running to back side of jump to do Forced Front cross..
And as I was guessed, 3 was the worst.. because I am static and waiting for him to come to jump..
4's Blind cross +Push was good too but I needed to position myself right next to the wing jump after the lap, so that he didn't make that wide pass after the lap. 
And no.1, the classic front cross+push was the most smooth pass, but definitely not fastest with Niah. I didn't do much with Koto, because we still don't want to too much tight turns with her..But she was great with this one;)

もうすぐデイライトセービングが終わってしまう。。
私と犬達はジョギングと毎日のアジの練習が日課になっています！
今日は基礎にもどってダブルバックサイドジャンプ、色々なハンドリングのオプションを
考えてみました。一体何通りあるんだか。。こんなに沢山あるオプションの中、
どのハンドリングが一番自分の犬に合っているかを　あの短いウォーキングの間に考えるのはとても大切な事。
こういう短いコースはほぼ毎週アジのスクールでしていますが、いつも
”なんだ、簡単じゃーん”と思いつつ、、これが凄ーく勉強になります。

この日のニア君、かなり”ちんたら”モードですが、どう見ても
私が一番”動いている” 6番のForced Front Cross, Push, Lap turn が速かったのではと思います。5と6の違いはトンネルに送ってからの私の動き。6のほうがトンネルから出て来た時に私がかなり先に居て、しかも走っている！それを見たニアはスピードを付けて走ってくれています。でもLap turnは私の位置が悪く、ニアをかなり大きく旋回させていますが。。4番のブラインドもいいですね。

この中で一番遅いのは3番、、ニアがトンネルから出てくるのを待っているところでディセルのシグナルになってしまっているのでしょうか？そして1番のフロントプッシュはやはりスムーズです（バー落としてますが。。）

これがニアのスピードアップの秘訣ですね！
だから極力レアクロスよりもブラインドクロスを選ぶようにしています。
これは今晩もう一度再トライしてみます〜


琴ともトライしてみました！　ジャンプの高さがまだ300なので何とも言えませんが、
琴もForced Front Cross が一番速かった！
これはいいレッスンになりました〜〜〜♩

Koto Returning to Running Contact!

琴とランニングコンタクト再開しました！
実に6ヶ月ぶりという事もあって、またリープするのでは？とかなり緊張したんですが
ちゃんとコンセプトは覚えていた様子！良かったー、かなり満足のセッションでした！ 

Koto is finally back in RC! 
We were so nervous about she might show us "beautiful leaping" but not much!! she did remember the RC concept after 6month break and we were so happy with this session !

月曜の夜のアジリティの琴ちゃんとディーンです。
この二人が走ってるのを　こうやって見れるのがどれだけ嬉しかったか
想像できますか？　もぅるるるんるんー♩本当に感動。

一度は諦めた　琴とのアジリティ 。
こうやってむちゃくちゃ嬉しそうに走ってる琴とディーンを見れただけでも幸せだけど
琴は前と何も変わらず真剣、全速力です：）
前足、本当に良くなって来てる♩
明日獣医のマルコムに会うのでこのビデオ見せようと思ってます！
多分彼も喜ぶはず〜：）

Can you guess how HAPPY I was watching Dean and Koto running together? 
Super happy~!!

She looked so happy running with him and she was using her entire body to 
run in the fastest speed as possible! I just loved watching her running with full energy.

Her leg is recovering very well! 
We will see the Vet Malcolm again tomorrow, I think he will be happy to watch this video :)

RC Exit Practice 1

ランニングコンタクトのエクジットの練習をしています。
コンタクトのミスはコレクションの6番だけでした。
（それも私がレフトのコマンドを言い忘れた）それから6のブラインドもかなり
高めの危ないヒットでしたが、それ以外は大丈夫でした！
でも実際はこんなにフロントにポジションできる訳ないし、、
こんなにブラインドも出来ないだろうから確実に”プル”の練習しないとですね。。
次回はニアと一緒に走るくらいの距離でやってみます！

Running Contact Exit practice is coming along nicely. 
Only one miss when I did collection without left verbal cue, 
and One very high and dodgy hit with blind cross on 6, but rest of them were good.
I don't think I will have that much chance to do Blind cross..
So I really need to practice pull!!
Next time, I will run with him from entry, so that more realistic running speed. 

koto's leg and nose..

 

This one is injured foot. much less flexibility compared to Niah.

琴の前足は確実に良くなって来てるのですが、やっぱり
運動の後は関節が硬くなって足がしっかり奥まで曲がらなくなってしまいます。
運動の後はディーンが必ずマッサージをしているのですが、以前は45℃くらいの直角にしか曲がらなかったのでその頃に比べると進歩してます。でもやっぱりニアに比べると
やっぱりまだまだですねー。
気長にじょじょにやっていくしかありません〜

それに先週から鼻の周りが真っ赤！なにかにアレルギー反応を起こしているようなのですが、これは原因不明。先生にもみせ、クリームをぬっているのですが
なかなかおさまりません。。鼻は得に敏感なのでかなり痒い様子。
クリームをぬるのも可哀想。琴がんばれー

Koto's leg is definitely better, but still joint gets stiff and loose flexibility after the hard exercises.  Dean has to massage her legs, put joint cartridge back in place and she will get flexible leg back.
Here is Koto's front leg, fully bent, if compared with Niah's leg, its obviously different? 
She used to have only 45 degrees, so it is much better. but she still needs massage! 

She also has some mysterious allergic reaction around her nose since one week ago. She must have put her nose into some plants or sniff something..wrong! 
We have been putting a cream for dog's skin but not getting better :( 
It must be very itchy or irritating her. Poor girl.

Love watching Tobius & Peanuts

I will probably have Border Collie rest of my life.. 
but I am also interested in doing agility with Small dog in the future :)

Must be very different handling and it would be another handling challenge to understand how to handle smaller stride dogs.

One of my favorite small dog handler is Tobias Wust in Germany. 
It's incredible to watch Tobias, who has such a long legs (probably 20 times longer than Peanut's legs) and excellent coordination, but this tiny sheltie peanut is always showing tightest turn, fastest speed (never that behind him) and
so much energy. I just love watching them! 

私は　多分生涯ずっとボーダーコリーを飼い続けると思いますが、
いつか小型犬ともアジをやってみたいなーっと思っています。
あの小さなストライドを操るのはかなり違ったハンドリングになるだろうし、
ハンドラーとして凄くいい訓練になりそう！

得に　スモールドッグのハンドラーさんで好きなのがドイツのTobias Wustさんとシェルティーのピーナッツ。Tobiasの超長い足（多分ピーナッツの20倍位？）にもすかさず全速力で付いてくるピーナッツ、タイトターンは見事だし、ウィーブエントリーは惚れ惚れ。。
それにTobiasさんのハンドリングのコーディネーションの素晴らしい事！
こんなエナジー、生で見た事ないよ。。

Finally JDX pass!! yahoo!!

やったー！
週末の競技会でとうとうJumpingクリーンラン出来ました！
ついでにアジリティも クリーンランで両方1席ゲットしましたよ　：）

といってもメルボルンから車で3時間以上かかる海のそばの田舎街の競技会だったので
もちろん　参加人数も少なかった中での1席でした（笑）
 
いやー　でも1年間、、ジャンピングだけでの殆どクリーンが出せない競技会
長かった。
ニア　いいアジリティドッグなんだけど、次々と問題が出て来て　
本当に　難しい1年でした。
でもお陰で色々と勉強になったし、バーもあまり落とさなくなって来てるし
今年は少し調子が出てくれたらいいな〜
琴も今年中旬くらいには復帰出来そうだし　今年は頑張らなきゃね♥

友達のカミラちゃんがこの街Warrnamboolに住んでいるので　久しぶりにウェンディとカミラとグレース、リバーとみんなでカミラの家に2泊したのですが、
楽しい週末でした〜　最後写真は大フィーバーで海で遊んだ後、ニア君顔に傷が、、
大興奮したグレースの牙で引っ掛れました。
目にちかいー危ない危ない。。
興奮もほどほどにしないとですねー

Finally! I have got a clean run at Excellent Jumping!!
woo hoo! It took us exactly one year, it was hard one year of only Jumping without Agility runs. 
So we've also run 3 Agility course in 2 days and One was clean run, and 1st place. 
rest of both 2 were also only one bar, but the best course time and 
both success with Running Contact. 
Very high hit without separation so it is hard to be happy, but it is ON the contact! so I should stop worrying for now :) 
Well done Niah. 
It was fun weekend staying with Cam and Wendy!!
 

 
 

Ugly dogs

やっと買えたー♥
去年からずっと欲しかったので見つけた時はうれしかった!
気持ち悪いぶさ犬を作ってくれるボール！ブサ顔大好き〜
オヤツも詰められるし、跳ねるし、頑丈だし　水にも浮きます〜

I was so happy when I found it!

These ball are also very functional,

New Dog Walk!

Its been awhile since the last RC training.
This is the first training video of new black rubberized dog walk!
(Not too bad isn't it? its actually so soft and great! perfectly ok for home use!!)

well.. he is still running like a kangaloo,
Still not much separation, but there is SOME separation!
AND yes, he is VERY confident towards to the end! 
I am so proud of him  ♥

久しぶりのランニングコンタクト！
ドックウォークをラバーにして初めてのトレーニングビデオです。
ブラックラバーもそんなに悪くないでしょ？
これが以外とふかふかに柔らかくてかなり上手く出来たので気に入ってます。

まぁ、ニアはまだカンガルーみたいな走りかたしてるし、
セパレーションはやっぱりあまりないけれど
多少はある！（どんどん開いて来てますよね？）
それに　ニアちゃん、自信たっぷり ♥
これだけでも満足！

Warrandyte Pottery expo -dog socilization paradice!

琴の社会科再トレーニングはじょじょに進歩してます！
琴とディーンがアジリティスクールに復帰した事で 毎週犬の居る環境の中で
トレーニングが出来る、それだけでなんだか随分変わって来た気がするし、
私達にも自信が戻ってきました。
（アジはまだバー無しか100くらいの高さでトレーニング中です、コンタクト障害は無し）
*距離をおきながら、じょじょに近づく、
*犬が近づいて来たら、凄い勢いでどんどんオヤツをあげる、
*限界の境界線を越さない、
これを心がけていれば、大丈夫！どんどん琴も落ち着いて来てるのが解るこの頃です♥

そして琴だけじゃなくてニアも　社会科は大切！
先週の日曜日は琴には少し刺激が強過ぎるので、ニアだけつれて犬連れの家族でにぎわう陶器のエキスポ（展示会）に行ってきました。
メルボルンから車で45分程離れた郊外Warrandyteの川沿いで行なわれた展示会場は
可愛い陶器で一杯。
犬にも最高の社会科の場所！　川でひと泳ぎした後は沢山の犬達に挨拶。
ニアはフレンドリーだけど、こういう機会はこれからもどんどん作って　
油断せず沢山社会科させて行って、犬達に挨拶する事を私が嬉しく思ってる事を
ちゃんと伝えて行きたいですね。
可愛い陶器ばっかりに気がいって、肝心な社会化の写真はとれませんでした！

Koto's Re-Socialization training is going really well, since Dean and Koto are back in Agility school. yes, Agility is the best environment to practice manners.
Everyone does understand what we are doing, and there are many high arousal things that she needs to control her self. Watching her being quite calm in the center of agility training field, We are also started to feel confident with her. 
Currently, we are working on..
*Keep enough Distance
*High rate & High value treats
*Work under threshold
Simple, but it works the best and she is obviously getting calmer♥

I am also considering to give plenty of socialization to Very friendly Niah as well.  
We went to Pottery expo at Warrandyte's beautiful river bank on last Sunday. 
It located on right next to the yarra river bank and many young artists were exhibiting thier beautiful potteries.
I wanted to make sure that he knows I am very happy about being friendly at other dogs and giving a calm greetings.
There were so many dogs and children and it was just a perfect place for socialization! 
I spoke to so many beautiful friendly people, and he was very popular and people gave him a pat non-stop and he said Hi to most of the dogs :) Very happy sunday date with Niah:)

OMD move pracitce

 
We've done a little bit of One Mind Dog movement practice yesterday.. 
I just wanted understand at least the names and moves before the seminar.
but wow, it will be so difficult without verbal cue as OMD doesn't say much 
verbal cue on course. 
I'm clear that I would definitely NOT stop saying verbal cues,
as Silvia says that "more information is better than less information". 
I agree!! 
It's more likely.. I can't stop talking to him at course anymore!
oh gosh! I am so loud!

but it would be very handly if I could do all those moves very smoothly 
when I can't remember which direction is cik/cap (lol)

Niah did moved so beautifully those tight courses! 
It always surprise me how flexible he is!
If he could improve bar knocking and add a little more power,
then he will be the perfect dog!! 
ha-!

Anyways, OMD OMD.. 
I always remember this band from 80's,
I have this beautiful song in my head when I hear the name of OMD.
and when I am practicing OMD staff ;)

セミナー前に少しでも動きと名前だけでも把握しようと思って
下のビデオのパートを少し練習してみました。。が！うーん　難しい〜。
やっぱりこれをバーバルコマンド無しでなんて絶対ムリ！
というか、これからも絶対バーバルは付けて行くと思います。
でも右左、Cik/Capはこういう時言えなくなりそうなので、
こういう動きが出来る様になりたいもんです。

でもニアは本当にこういう小回りが効くんですよねー
自分でも驚くくらい！
あとはバーを落とさなくなって、もうちょっとパワーがつけば
ニアくん、最高なんだけどなー　：）

ところでOMD!と聞くと　かならず　この80年代のバンドO.M.Dを思い出すのは私だけ？
このTalking Loud and Clearって曲がかなり好きで
いつもOMDの練習をしてるときはこの曲が頭の中で流れてます〜

バーバルはやっぱりしっかりクリアに言った方がいいんだよー

Excellent Jumping Journey, 2013

It has been nearly one year since we have received first clear run in Excellent Jumping at Warrnambool trial in March, 2013.
We needs 5 passes to get Ex Jumping title and go up to Master level. 
but it's already one year!!!
I thought it is great chance to look back and think what was causing all those errors, misunderstanding and disconnections..

1. Emotionally, I have been giving up about getting a pass or thinking of winning because of he knocks bars and very sensitive to my handling mistakes. 

2. Physically, I was always too conscious about he will knock the bar when I run too fast or doing rear cross.. 

3. Disconnection was, Tunnel Entry! The most difficult thing was to connect with him when he look at the tunnel entry right infront of his face and get his focus out of it to me.
We lost so many passes from getting into wrong side of the tunnel. 

4. Mentally, I was always conscious about making mistake with my verbal cues.
So Watching most of the runs from the last year, My shoulder/chest are not giving much
information to him. I was relaying on Verbal cues and my force movements.

But! since I started think of chest, toe, shoulder and being far ahead of him to give him more clear information, He started running much much better. It was just really excited to run with him last weenend's trial.  He was faster than some of the very fast 600 Border Collie, and my school's instructor, who has 10 years of agility experience, and very fast border collie! 
Some of the very good handlers came up to me and said, 
"I've never seen Niah running that fast!" 
How exciting to hear that!?

One more pass to go! but before I think of that, I just wanted to review
his Excellent Jumping journey so I know what I have been doing and what was really good about him! 
We can't wait to start Masters soon with him, 
and I think we are ready for it ;)

去年の3月に初のExcellent Jumpingのクリアランからかれこれ1年！
Excellent Jumpingはパスが5つでmasterクラスへと上がれるのですが、
去年は本当にダメだった。。もう一生エクセレントから這い上がれないと
思うくらい重い足かせ（姉の言葉を借りました）状態だったのです。
でも今こうやってビデオを再度見てみると、、

1.　私の動きに過剰に敏感でバーを良く落とすので、パスする事を諦めていた
2.　レアクロス、それに私が速く走りすぎるとバーを落とす事が判明し、それから私が躊躇するようになる。
3.　トンネルエントリー。トンネルが目の前にあると吸い込まれる様にどぼんと入って行く。。まるで私のコマンドは届かない（見ていない）
4.　バーバールを間違えるのではとはらはらしながら走っている。

そして私の肩はあまり動いていない、足や胸の向きを
考えていない、バーバルキューがしっかり言えない事心配しながらも、バーバルや自分のモーションに頼りすぎている！

でも！今年に入ってなんだかニア調子がいいんです。　
それもやっぱりこの事に気づいたからかな（笑）
先週の土曜のナイトトライアルでの走りは本当に大満足できるものだったし、
かなり速い600のボーダーや同じスクールで教えてもらってるインストラクターのボーダー、それにクリアが6頭くらい居た中での1席だったのでこれは嬉しかった。。
ベテランのハンドラーさんやスクールのインストラクター達に
ニアがあんなに走ってたのみた事無いよ！！と言われました。
あと1つのクリアでマスターに行けるのですが、その前に2013年の復習。。
というか良かった所のハイライトのビデオを作ってみました。
色々と良い復習が出来ました。そろそろマスターで始められる？よね　ニア

Night Trial and Jumping First Place

Saturday was Night trial! 
So it started at 5:30pm.  Its still nice summer temparature in melbourne now so it was actually great night...

BUT!! it was a bit too big number of people for night trial.  
It actually finished at 12:45am!!! 
When I got home, it was 1:30 am.... :(
After 9pm got very cold and I wasn't wearing enough cloth. 
Also I missed out buying dinner. 
so I was so hungry and cold :(  it was a bit hard night afterall!!

BUT We did 2 runs and Niah was running great! 
we've got 1st place in Excellent Jumping :) 
Agility was 2nd place, Very unlucky that he missed tunnel. 
but He was the fastest dog in the ring :) 
Running Contact was good, he's got both of contact ok. 
It was a bit too high hits and worried me a little bit.. but hit is hit! 
I should be happy with him!
We've got many prizes! So lucky that I didn't only get doggy staff, 
I've got Jamie Oliver's recipe book too ;)


土曜の夜はナイトトライアルでした。
夏の昼間のヒートを避ける為に、夕方から行なわれるトライアルですが
この日は結構涼しくて過ごしやすい日だったので外で座っているのが
心地よかった。。。のですが、、
夜9時を過ぎると突然気温が一気に下がりジャケットじゃないと寒くて震えるくらい！
薄い上着一枚しか持って行ってなかったし、おまけに夜ご飯買い忘れてしまったのに
エントリーが凄く多くて終わったのがなーんと夜の12：45分。。。
家に帰り着いたのは夜中の1：30でした。。真夜中、、
お腹すくし凄い寒いし、もう我慢大会状態でした。。

でもニアくん凄く調子がよくてなんとジャンピングで1席ゲット！
かなり速いボーダー達を3匹抜いての一席だったのでこれは嬉しかった！
そしてアジリティも2席をゲット、タイムでは一番速かったのですが、
小さいリフューザルをもらいクリアできませんでした。
でもランニングコンタクトは両方ばっちり！少しヒットが高すぎたのが気になりましたが
でもヒット出来た事には間違いなし！
喜んでいいはず〜♥

Weekend beach walk

金曜の夜はまた片道80キロ走ってサマーズのビーチへ夕日を見に散歩に行ってきました。
かなり時間が掛かるけど、この空とハッピーな犬達を見ると
疲れもストレスも吹っ飛びます！
満潮の時は崩れ落ちた木が沢山転がっているので、この上を走り回って
天然の障害物アジリティーができるのも楽しいみたい。
琴もニアもとにかく大はしゃぎ。

We went to quick beach walk at Somers on Friday night. 
Long driving, but as soon as see these super happy face and beautiful sun set,
long drive isn't bad at all!! 
We have to walk through between the fallen trees when it is high tide, so dogs can 
do natural obstacle agility here :) They were running and jumping around!

琴ちゃん誕生日おめでとー
琴と一緒に過ごす時間は本当に大切な時間。
いつも色々と難問を問いかけてくれて、私達に沢山のライフレッスンを教えてくれてありがとう！
琴は本当にクレージーな犬だけど、そんなクレージーを心から楽しんでる私達も
クレージーなんだよね：）
これからまだまだ教えないと行けない事が沢山あるけど
ゆっくり私達のペースでやっていこうね
一杯チャレンジを与えてくれてありがとう！お陰で毎日楽しい♥

誕生日プレゼントは手作りのラバー付きバランスボード（リハビリ用）
それから琴の大好きなぴーぴーオモチャと
ローファットでベジタリアンのガム。 （リハビリしてるから体重は増やせない）
でもアジリティまた出来そうで本当によかった！
さんざんだった5歳は終わったから、6歳は良い歳にしようね〜

Koto turned to Big 6 today!! 
Every moment with you, is my treasure and joy, 
Thank you for teaching me many life lessons! You are crazy dog, but we are also crazy people living with you and enjoying you so much :)

We still have a lots to learn with you, 
I am so happy to face to next challenges with you!

For her Birthday present, She has got our handmade rubberised balance board (for more rehab work)
Koto's favorite squeaky toys (one is already broken... )
and vegetarian /low fat chew (she is on a diet!) 

And the best thing is that we can run agility with you again!! 
The terrible 5 years old is finished!! now we just have to make 6 years old happy and healthy!
Thank you for your recovery and giving us a HUGE happiness !
