Mt.Hotham to Feathertop, Sunset walk
Happy Birthday Dean san!

Mt Hotham to Mt Feathertop walk
I hope you are having a easy week as we are! I am totally relaxed after the long weekend in the mountain! It was Labour day long weekend, (Monday was public holiday) and we finally did decent mountain walking!
Australian National Parks are not allowed Dogs to preserve wild life, therefore we always need to stay away from the most beautiful places in Australia since we started live with dogs. But Dean's birthday on Sunday was a great "excuse" and asked step father to look after them for the weekend, we dropped dogs there and drove 3.5 hours to the Australian Alps. Australian Alps runs between the border of Victoria and New South Wales and we stayed tiny little town called Harrietville, right near the ski-resort little town called Bright, close to the Victorian border.
I felt so lucky that we didn't stay at Bright, because we wanted to have quiet hide away holiday and close to the wild life. Gosh! it's insane that Bright became so so busy and popular town, it was full of people and car!! there were so many festival and event..
Our little cottage was cozy, very convenient location, nothing was broken or uncomfortable - there was nothing really to complain.
But!! we finally realised that only one road that take us to the Mt Hotham, where our mountain walk will start, was completely closed between 8am to 1pm for Bicycle race event on Sunday...
So all of our morning hiking plan needed to change to shorter in length, and later of the day, and we needed to spend Sunday morning at Bright, looking at classical Car festival ...
It was kind of fun tho.
Finally the bicycle event finished and we started to hike around 1:40pm.
Here we started hiking!
360° Spectacular view!
We just walked on top of the mountain ridge, up and down - for about 5 hours.
It was very easy walk, but view was stunning.
So quiet
So peaceful
So much to see and engage with layers and layers of mountains.
Peaceful

Paradise Valley Camping -Dog friendly caravan park with river-
-->
After having a nearly Autum temparature week, We finally
had summer back in the weekend! It was exciting since I was feeling so cold in the night for one week!! We decided to go for one day camping for fresh water swimming
near Glenmaggie lake in Gippsland. We
camped right next to the valley and river, and enjoyed jumping in the water,
cooking under the Sky, Sunset and Stars.
This
camp site was called Paradise Valley,
which has a HUGE area that dogs can run around freely and swim in the river, we
could camp anywhere along the river and valley, There were few caravans and
campers but not busy at all. It was a
caravan park so it wasn’t free bush camping, but I appreciated very thick and
healthy green grass everywhere (we don’t see that anymore in Melbourne, its too
dry and nearly dead brown grass everywhere) with very clean area. There were
not many trees and didn’t see much wild life but there was nothing to complain! About $15 per night/per site, Not bad at all!!
We
had a great weekend with dogs! We
should more often come to river and lake camping!

5th January, Full Moon Sunset on the beach
On the beach.. We had a great swim, great 4WD adventure fun, and absolutely relaxed looking over the sunset on the beach every night.
We took the dogs for walk at sunset time everyday.
Such a good reason to go for walk with dogs :)
Wow, there was something magical about this beach.
I totally felt in love with southend, it actually reminds me of the place called, Rainbow Beach, QLD.
When I visit rainbow beach with Japanese friends in back in early 2004,
we found the beach that shine rainbow colours during the sunset.
And since then, I've been always wanted to go back there, but I think I found another rainbow beach that is not too far from Victoria!
Amazing 4 nights. 5 Days.
Golden Rainbow.
I think I will never forget this night :D
Here are some sunset photos.

Southend camping trip Day2-
Camping Day2 Afternoon -
Mt Gambier
We stopped at Mt Gambier for awhile to look at Blue Lake that I wanted to see for long time!!
We were also looking for Dog crate to buy.. so we were wondering around the town to find pet shop, and yes, we found Petstock.
But out side of the car was nearly 40 degrees!
One of the lady came up to me and asked if Niah is from Guirmere Dog?
yes, he is! Guirmere dogs are totally easy to distinguish. This lady does agility and she knew another Guirmere dog owner, it was funny that someone know about my dog in the totally new place for us :P
Campsite we choose was located on Southend, just after Millecent.
Very small fisherman's town which has only 297 people population.
We felt in love with bushland camp site next to the beach.
Beach is stunning, campsite has toilet, bin, water, and quite large and secluded space with lots of trees and grass, right next to beautiful sandune, and beach.
What could it be better than this?? and we also found its only $10 per person/per night. we could take a shower at caravan park! How great!
